Hello!

I’m Ellie, a mixed media artist based on the South Coast, UK. I was about 10 years old when I first decided I wanted to have my own surf brand.

Fast forward 15 years and a BA(Hons) Fine Art, I’m creating art prints and developing a surf brand little Ellie would have just loved.

I’ve sold and posted my surf art across the world. Designed commissions for various customers. Displayed large prints in two hotels, one being Oceanside Hotel in Fistral. Set up at many art markets and festivals along the coast. Created and published a website myself. Invested many hours filming, photographing and editing for social media. Slowly but surely getting Waxo Surf known as a brand name (I’ve even been recognised a couple times!!)

So what’s next?

I’ll continue to add to my collection of artworks. I aim to travel to more surf spots around the world and across the UK, photographing surfers, creating different series of prints. I plan on expanding into more retail places (your local surf shops). Another big thing is apparel - currently in research stages of designing some Waxo T-Shirts.

And as I get asked many of times at art shows - no, I do not use wax in my art. Waxo came about when I decided to call my superhero self, ‘Waxo Girl’ when I was young. It was during my college days, studying Creative Media Production when I had to come up with a production company name - which developed further on my Art & Design Foundation, into Waxo Surf.

In 2022, my Dissertation in my final year of University, titled “The Art of Surfing” I researched and analysed the origins of surf art and its fundamental role in surf culture and lifestyle from back then to now. It’s always been this. Plan A. Surf Art. Waxo Surf takes the energy, culture and lifestyle from surfing and recreates it in artistic form.
